Toonage Times

Remember those days before set top boxes? When a cartoon on Doordharshan or a TV show on Star TV was our only entertainment quota for the days. JJ now pays homage to all those TV & Cartoon Theme Songs that enlivens our spirit and makes us kids again. We have compiled a list of our favourite Cartoon & TV Theme songs. This list will have you yearning to watch those shows again, still in your school uniform, perched in front of your bulky colour tv, with a plate of your mom’s hot pakoras. Read along, song along and travel along with us on this journey down the television age. Get those pakoras ready!

  1. Batman 60s Theme Song: We think the lyrics go ‘Tenne Nenne Nenne Nenne, Tenne Nenne Nenne Nenne, BATMAAAAAAAAAN!”.
  2. Captain Planet: Earth! Fire! Wind! Water! Heart! Five powers combined, it’s our favourite childhood superhero.
  3. Superhuman Samurai: That tune is still stuck in all our heads.
  4. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: If we remember correctly – Leonardo leads, Donatello does machines, Raphaelo’s cool but rude, Michaelangelo is a party dude. Radical!
  5. Power Rangers: Go Go Power Rangers.
  6. GI Joe: GI Joe is the codename for America’s daring, highly trained special mission force. Get your army pants on.
  7. Jem: The Hannah Montanna of the 90s. Fashion and fame. Jem is my name.
  8. Dexter’s Laboratory: There is gloom and doom where things go boom, in Dexters Laaaaaab. But there is joy and a glint in our eyes, whenever we hear this intro.
  9. Powerpuff Girls: This one is for the girls, but come one guys, admit it. You watched the show with your sisters too!
  10. The Real Adventures of Johhny Quest: This instrumental track spells adventure all the way.
  11. Swat Cats: Now that was one rocking show with one hellova rocking soundtrack!
  12. Scooby Doo: Scooby Dooby Doo, where are you? We’ve got some work for you now. Is it just us, or is anyone else yearning for a Scooby snack?

Keep the kid in you alive. Keep Just Jockeying.
